I have mixed feelings about posting a lower-case letter; it just doesn't feel right for some reason. Nevertheless, I love the frilly look. Bonus points if you can find the other more abstract calligraphic upper-case E's that I hid within the lower-case letter.

I'm really enjoying the contrast of elegant and modern, straight and curvy, and geometric and asymmetrical for the D.

After spending way too much time on this still-not-so-great-looking C, I've decided it's time to give it up and move on to D.

As I mentioned in the January Roundup, February's challenge is to design a letter a day. This challenge is specifically inspired by the amazing Jessica Hische and her Daily Drop Cap series. While inspired by Daily Drop Cap, my letters won't necessarily all fall into the drop cap category. For practical purposes, I'm starting with A, and although February is a short month, I plan to complete a full alphabet by the end of the month.

LETTERPRESS COASTERS
Absolutely in love with this video featuring Repeat Press of Somerville, MA. They created some custom coasters for Highsnobiety and Selectism to hand out for the holidays. It's such an intricate process and the gorgeous finished products makes me want to take a bite out of those coasters. Mmmm! Now for the rest of the evening, I'll either be on Briar Press searching for a letterpress I can afford, or trying to find a letterpress boutique that's hiring.
